okay- if you live in southern california, you've probably been to disneyland. I went there yesterday, and of course, had to have one of their cupcakes. Decorated like Christmas trees and dradles, they were very good! I didn't take any pics, but, if I go again to get a cupcake, I'm gonna bring my camera!

Cupcake Camp!

Okay, I know this is like, really late. But, please understand that this was my first full week of school. Anyway, back to what's important- CUPCAKE CAMP!!!!! It was wonderful to be a judge alongside some of the biggest cupcake names in the state, including Eloise Wallis, founder of  CupcakeActivist.com, Annette Starbuck, Food Network’s Cupcake Wars Season 3 Winner and Founder of Goodie Girls Cupcakes,
Jason Iehl and Kim Nelson, editors of SaturdayNightFoodies.com, and Cassie Piper. They were all very nice and it was wonderful to meet them all... but, back to what people want- CUPCAKES!
Just cupcakes
I thought this one had time put into it and i enjoyed judging it.

For Goodness Cupcakery has re-opened!

As you may know, For Goodness Cakes Cupcakery was closed in mid-July for new management. In half a month they
1. Got all new employees
2. Changed all the recipes
3. Got a new manager
All that was kept the same was
1. The location
2. The name
Their new cupcake recipes are very smart- such as MnM- but I do think that they need to change their frosting recipe. But keeping in mind that everything is new, I'm having an open mind.

My brother's cupcake.

The MnM cupcake. They change the color every day!

My mom's of course strawberry cupcake

My dad's- I didn't get any feed back. We took it to go!

They even changed their website! Visit http://www.forgoodnesscakeshb.com/ for info

Frosted Cupcakery

Frosted has been very successful in the past few years, earning the myfoxla HOT LIST in 2007 and has been mentioned in the newspaper beachweek as a very good cupcakery in 2006. This week, we have been on 2nd street, where they are located, twice. So, of course we stopped in, twice. Last night, it was my parents anniversary, and we went to Frosted for dessert. my dad had their carrot/cream cheese, my mom had a strawberry/cream cheese, and my brother had their lemon/cream cheese. It suprises me that a didn't get something fruity. Instead I got the opposite!- Chocolate/Chocolate. It was very rich and satisfying, but it wasn't so rich that you couldn't finish it all. A few days before that, me and my mom went there, along with two friends. I got the royal white/chocolate butter cream, and it was good! These are my favorite kinds of  cupcakes, and I can barley find them any where!! Please, post a comment on this post if you know anywhere else they sell these kinds of cupcakes!

Costco MEGA Flower Cupcakes

6 of the most floral cupcakes I've ever seen are huge, bright, and come from Costco! (One of the best stores in the USA and possibly farther) The cake is really good, but the frosting isn't frosting. It's still good, but its more of, I want to say, maybe a chocolate syrup topping that had been hardend a twitch? The flower topping was frosting, and didn't melt when it was stuck in a REALLY warm car for about 3 hours. Now, in the family refriderator, there is one and a half pieces left. I wish they just kept magicaly reappering. Hmm.....
The cupcake is covered by the flower...

ISNT IT HUGER THAN HUGGEST
(The Mega sized cupcakes...)

Can you sorta see the Chocolate syrup "frosting"?

Camp Sherman

The amazing Orange County Girl Scout summer camp called Camp Sherman is literally the-best camp I ever went to. There were so much activities, like swamping, canoeing, swimming, gardening, rock climbing, horseback riding, ect., ect, and not to mention the food! It wasn't camp-mush-food that you think of, like dry cake or uncooked eggs, it was really good! (Not just because we were really hungry.) But on to the cupcake part- On the last full day of camp, there was somthing called "all-camp-day".  My friend, Bre, and I chose our two sessions together. First, we went to the garden as The Singing Murderers. There were alot of weeds, and so we dug them up. (That's the "Murderers" part.) The person in charge told us that plants grew faster if music was playing. So Bre and I sang to the plants while we killed the weeds. It was fun! Next, we went to arts and crafts. There, we were given plastic mini ceral boxesto create something out of. All the people there made anuimals out of them, except me and Bre. We made- What you would think- Cupcakes. That's right- Cupcakes. (Of course) :)

For Goodness Cupcakery

Last night I went to the For Goodness Cakes for the second time.  My mom had the Celebration, my dad had their Carrot, and my brother and I had their (wonderful!) "Blue" Velvet. Like my brother did the last time we were there, my mom liked the Celebration cake, but said that the frosting was super rich. My dad gulped his down gladly, and said that it was a nice taste. The Blue Velvet was exactly like a Red Velvet, except it was blue. No difference in taste at all. And it was a very good cupcake. It had the perfect balance of moist-and-rich-but-not-so-much-that-you-can't-eat-it taste. I also loved the little blue star sprinkle. It tasted like frosting, and it was strong enough to hold itself up at 90 degrees on the cupcake, but soft enough so it doesn't brake your teeth when you bite into it. Again, you can visit them at http://www.forgoodnesscakeshb.com/index.php. And remember to try out their special flavor, Hummingbird!
